UP FIRST Elon Musk says AI will eliminate the need for anyone to work Musk's comments came toward the end of a year that's seen generative AI emerge as a potentially huge transformative technology Elon Musk has said that artificial intelligence will end up taking all jobs and is set to become “the most disruptive force in history.” He made the claim at the end of a two-day AI Safety Summit in the U.K. whose attendees included the U.S. and China. “We will have something that is, for the first time, smarter than the smartest human,” the billionaire entrepreneur said. “There will come a point where no job is needed" because AI will be “able to do everything.” Musk added that in such a scenario, one of the main challenges will be "how to find meaning in life." CRYPTOCURRENCY Sam Bankman-Fried found guilty of seven counts of fraud The former cryptocurrency tycoon could face decades in prison Sam Bankman-Fried was found guilty on seven charges of fraud and money laundering by a New York City jury. Bankman-Fried ran one of the world's biggest cryptocurrency exchanges until the enterprise came crashing down last year when his firm, FTX, went bankrupt. He did it anyway because he thought he was smarter and better and that he could figure his way out of it” ...

But that’s exactly what Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen will do as part of a mental health initiative developed in partnership with HTC. Engineers at the tech firm have adapted the Vive Focus 3 VR headset to cope with microgravity conditions and reduce motion sickness. The main aim of the VR-based therapy is to give astronauts a break from the station’s isolated and cramped environment and allow them to be transported to another place. To help Mogensen relax, his VR experiences will include diving with dolphins, watching a sunset over a mountain ridge, and listening to birds singing, among others ...
