Joe Burrow, Saints fan. And coping with the trauma of crime

By Bob Warren

Crime is on everyone's minds these days. But long after the crime scene tape is gone, survivors must continue coping with the trauma. Missy Wilkinson spoke to some, who explained how they cope and trying to heal.

Meanwhile, NOPD announced today it had made a second arrest made in the shooting death of a 12-year-old Derrick Cash last month.

Joe Saints fan: Joe Burrow sure knows what we like. The Ohio native who quarterbacked LSU to a national title in 2019 and is preparing for the Super Bowl this Sunday, met with the media on Monday and explained why he was a Saints fan growing up.

Saints coach, Pels trade: Speaking of the Saints, they made some big news yesterday. The team is expected to formally announce their new coach today, Dennis Allen. We’ll be there, of course. Columnist Jeff Duncan says Allen is a good pick, but now has to prove it.

The Saints aren’t the only professional sports team making a splash. The NBA Pelicans, who have struggled at times this season but still have playoff hopes, are putting together a trade, reports say. Our Pelicans beat writer Christian Clark thinks the team just got a lot better.

Nutria is served: Finally, there was a nutria rodeo last weekend and today there are nearly 2,000 fewer swamp rats in the, uh, swamp. Some of those bodies will become gator and turtle chow. Check out the pictures.
