Speaking at FIA IDX in London, Wilson emphasized that as markets shift to 24/7 trading, the ability to move collateral and variation margin instantly is “essential” to avoid injecting “significant additional risk into the financial system.” He warned, “If you move to 24/7 markets and you can’t move collateral or variation margin 24/7 and instantaneously, you inject significant additional risk into the financial system. So I think that it’s essential and it needs to go hand-in-hand with that evolution.”
