I look back on last week’s Boca conference with exhaustion and pride. I know it’s been a successful week if my cheeks still hurt from smiling and my hand is chafed from greeting old friends and new. Check and check!
After three years away, Boca exceeded my expectations. Not that there weren’t hiccups. Supply chain issues left parts of the newly renovated resort under construction. The sunshine didn’t cooperate like usual, impeding some of our outdoor festivities. And the aftermath of COVID-19 and the Ukraine invasion caused some of the usual suspects to stay home.

| | | LUKKEN HAPPY TO BE BACK AT BOCA; HAILS CONFERENCE A SUCCESS |
Walt Lukken was not the last interview JLN conducted during Boca, but he was the second to last. The JLN team interviewed the FIA president & CEO on the back patio of the Mizner Conference Center on the last day of the conference minutes before he offered his closing words.
All that was left of the conference was the golf and the closing cocktail party later, which, like the rest of the conference, would be moved indoors. We interviewed Lukken tucked under the arched portico of the conference center, as our regular interview space was being disassembled to ready the area for the next event.
