The ACDIS mission statement is to serve as the premier healthcare community for clinical documentation specialists, providing a medium for education, professional growth, program recognition, and networking. While we are confident in the efforts made to achieve that mission, in the wake of some of 2020’s social unrest, we felt that we needed to be doing more.
With the development of the ACDIS Diversity and Inclusion Task Force we hope to inspire current and new members of all races, nationalities, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and ethnicities to thrive within the profession.
And we’d like to invite you to learn more and become part of the change ACDIS, the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force, and current ACDIS members are making in the industry we love! With additional goals of improving recruitment and retention, creating a even playing field, educating CDI professionals around inclusivity, providing support and awareness of biases and discrimination, and recognizing those promoting diversity and inclusion we wanted to share some for the most recent work around these efforts in the recent CDI Journal that ACDIS members receive. To say that we are excited about the development of the ACDIS Diversity and Inclusion Task, encouraged by initial efforts, and hopeful for the participation of current members and the inclusion of new ACDIS members would be an understatement! As always we are looking forward to new ACDIS members taking part in, and advantage of the many membership benefits ACDIS offers: - Weekly tips, news, and strategies in our e-newsletter, CDI Strategies
