Dear reader,
On Monday 18 November, I’m joining the Observer’s features writer Miranda Sawyer to introduce the fourth volume of my memoirs. The event will be at King’s Place in London and will be livestreamed globally.
The years 1999–2009 had us reeling from the successive shocks of September 11, the global financial crash and the Iraq war. In this fourth volume of my diaries, I’ve documented the day-to-day detail of living in a world buffeted by such powerful winds of change. The dawn of the 21st century has also been one of infinite possibilities. Amid the turbulence, it revealed more than ever the strength of family, friendship and, of course, the Pythons.
My curiosity and thirst for adventure has taken me across the world, to the North and South poles, North Korea, Ethiopia mid-coup and more … and in this decade, I’ve embarked on my greatest adventure yet: witnessing the growth of my family.
I hope you can join me with Miranda on Monday 18 November as we discuss grief, comedy and confrontation, and reflect on a new millenium and the filming of my travel documentaries.
