During the upcoming Milan Design Week, Designboom is hosting a series of hourly Live TALKS alongside Architonic and Archdaily at our DAAily bar.

The audience will have the chance to hear from international guests from the worlds of design, art and architecture, who will provide insights into current work and developments. You can expect discussions around Architecture for Elephants, Labyrinths, Flowers, Parfum, Design Emergency, Photography For Sustainability, and Time. In addition, Alessia Cappello, Comune di Milano's Councilor for Economic Development and Labor Policies, will honor Boonserm Premthada with the golden madonnina of THE DESIGN PRIZE.

Paola Antonelli and Alice Rawsthorn celebrate the launch of their debut publication DESIGN EMERGENCY with a PHAIDON BOOK SIGNING at the DAAily bar. During their talk, the two will discuss more about how great creative minds are developing new design solutions to the major challenges of our time.

20:00 - ANNE VITCHEN TALKS FLOWERS
Floral designer Anne Vitchen shares her flowery experience of creating unique installations for clients like DIOR, CHANEL, and the RITZ hotel Paris. Anne Vitchen is also developing an immersive floral installation merging visual and olfactory sensations, which will be on view at the DAAily bar.

WEDNESDAY, June 08 18:00 - DOUGLAS MANDRY MEETS BALLY
Human demand for a lot of things has caused natural ecosystems to diminish. Swiss artist Douglas Mandry is experimenting with photographic techniques and self-invented processes to raise questions around this issue. Photography for Sustainability! Also, don't miss Mandry's nature-inspired Art Curtain– created in collaboration with Bally and Christian Fischbacher – which will cover the walls of the DAAily bar.

THURSDAY, June 09 18:00 - JULIAN BEDEL OF FUEGUIA 1833 TALKS PARFUM
Julian Bedel, the Argentinian founder of Fueguia 1833, sees perfumery as synonymous to craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability. The audience will have a chance to smell his most recent seasonal scents, resulting of an exploration and botanical research conducted especially for Designboom.

20:00 - ARCHITECTURE FOR ELEPHANTS BY BOONSERM PREMTHADA
Boonserm Premthada of Bangkok Project Studio will talk about his Architecture for Elephants, as well as the elephant dung bricks, in which he and his team upcycle animal waste into building material. The Thai architect will also receive the golden madonnina of THE DESIGN PRIZE for SOCIAL IMPACT in a ceremony with Alessia Cappello, Comune di Milano's Councilor for Economic Development and Labor Policies.

The DAAily bar – our curated space inside the Swiss Corner, in the eastern part of the Brera Design District – is an otherworldly space for relaxation during the busy Milan Design Week.
