Dr. Spina and the Island Health team launched the program at Victoria General Hospital and Royal Jubilee Hospital in British Columbia, enabling patients to receive safe and effective care virtually and in their homes from a multidisciplinary team of providers. The successful program was guided by patient oriented research that included a robust public engagement process and an investment in specific tools, technologies, and resources that patients, families sand clinicians insisted were needed to make the program successful and sustainable.
