Recipe for the festive pavlova
| After five years of waking up with Melbourne, this is my final week hosting the Breakfast program on 774 ABC Radio Melbourne. We have gone through so much together – one global pandemic, two Olympics, three train station broadcasts, a 24-hour radiothon, and many other milestones. I will miss so much about this role – my team, my guests, and, of course, my listeners ... particularly our "5.30 family", the secret early part of the show filled with musings, meanderings and occasionally saucy confessions. Hosting Breakfast hasn't just been a job, it's been an entire lifestyle and a life-changing experience – one that I will cherish forever. But before I say goodbye, I’m taking the Breakfast show on the road one last time. Join me on the Melbourne Museum Plaza this Thursday from 5.30am for my penultimate show. There’ll be songs. And possibly dancing – we’ll see where the morning takes us. | | |

Matt Neale was walking along the beach when he saw a father and son struggling in a rip. When he couldn't find a surfboard to use as a flotation device, he found the next best thing, a beer keg. In a heroic act, he told Sammy J that he “battled the waves with a keg” to rescue the pair from the waves. | | |
