There are currently more than 60 sites who are live on FOLIO, the open-source library management system, representing a diverse set of use cases. The open-source library services platform moves beyond the traditional integrated library system (ILS), allowing anyone to build on its core functionality or extend the platform through development of applications that deliver new services.
On the heels of the Library of Congress’ recent announcement to move to FOLIO, join us for a lively talk with three very different library systems who have already migrated. This session will cover the institutions’ decision to move to FOLIO, including discussing pain points at the library and how FOLIO helped to solve them. In addition to an overview of FOLIO, they will discuss the process of migrating to an open-source system with vendor support. Being live on the system for varying amounts time, they will each share insights on the process and an update of how it was received by staff and end-users.
