Join us in becoming a Neighborhood Leader in 2020! Currently Jackson County's Neighborhood Leader Program is one of the largest program's in the state - help us grow our numbers even more and specifically reach out to progressive non-affiliated voters for the 2020 primary. A strong grassroots Get Out the Vote operation is key to winning elections.
Get involved by going to our Volunteer Form!
Serving as a Neighborhood Leader with the Jackson County Democrats is a fun and easy way to get to know Democratic and progressive voters in your community and encourage them to vote. Neighborhood Leaders are given a “turf” which is simply a list of voters’ names and addresses in or near their neighborhood. Each Neighborhood Leader visits the voters in their turf a couple of times during the election period, making sure the voters received their ballots and vote. Neighborhood Leaders also distribute “slate cards” which are lists of endorsed candidates and issues on the ballot. The Neighborhood Leaders encourage voters to vote in every election and get more involved in the party.
There is a lot to think about regarding health care as we move into this monumental election year! We will be having a special meeting for this month's health care caucus on Tuesday January 21st from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Jackson County Democrat's Office 110 E 6th St in Medford, OR. We will be talking about the state of mental health and recovery in our county and how they might be improved to reduce the criminalization of these vulnerable populations locally. Before we commit to a bigger jail, what can we do to address crises occurring from poverty, violence, and untreated medical problems now?
Come to the caucus meeting with your thoughts and ideas. We will be creating health care questions for the upcoming CD2 candidate forum on January 23rd. Check out the event on Facebook and follow our Health Care Caucus page!
