The Thai traditional drug kratom will be the topic of an Integrative Medicine Research Lecture by Dr. Christopher R. McCurdy of the University of Florida, to be held virtually on Monday, April 25 from 1 to 2 p.m. ET.

In his lecture, Can a Controversial Tree Help End the Opioid Crisis? Dr. McCurdy will discuss the traditional medicinal uses of kratom, current pharmacologic studies, and his own teams behavioral studies in rodent models. Kratoms differing uses, availability, and preparation around the world will also be explored.

Dr. McCurdys talk will be streamed live and archived at NIH VideoCast and Facebook. No registration is required.
