With the election just a few weeks off, we decided to stage an American Revival of the old show in the nation's capitol so we can toss aside our differences and join together in song to celebrate this great country. for A Prairie Home Companion At a time of great political divide, we are bringing the show to our nation’s capital for the American Revival show. Music ties us together as we sing songs of old — the songs we should all know by memory. We have performed in Washington, D.C., more than 15 times, with some of the most fabulous audiences in the country. In fact, as each season of A Prairie Home Companion came to a close, one of the final stops each season was at Wolf Trap.
Given it's October, our show on October 21st will be staged at The Anthem at 8:00 p.m. and will include our actors, Tim Russell and Fred Newman; our songstress, Heather Masse; our opera diva, Ellie Dehn; our celebrated Broadway music director, Rob Fisher, one of our favorite poets, Billy Collins; our favorite fingerstyle guitarist, Pat Donohue; and Richard Dworsky at the piano, directing The Friendly String Quartet. Billy Collins was twice appointed United States poet laureate and also served as New York State poet laureate. In 2004, he was selected as the inaugural recipient of the Poetry Foundation's Mark Twain Award for humor in poetry. Known to many as a member of the acclaimed Juno Award-winning Canadian band The Wailin’ Jennys, Heather Masse has taken the stage at hundreds of venues across Europe, Canada, and the U.S. She appeared regularly on A Prairie Home Companion, and the versatile vocalist has performed with the bluegrass band The Wayfaring Strangers on NPR’s World Cafe and at Boston’s Symphony Hall with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Grammy™-nominated Pat Donohue (guitar) is a native and resident of St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a National Fingerpicking Guitar Champion and an innovative songwriter, with several albums to his credit on Red House Records and Bluesky Records. Nodody's Fault a new album by Pat Donohue is coming out soon. His songs have been recorded by Chet Atkins, Suzy Bogguss, and Kenny Rogers. His latest recording is American Guitar (Bluesky). ABOUT ELLIE DEHN:
Soprano Ellie Dehn has graced many of the world’s leading opera houses, from the Metropolitan Opera to Teatro alla Scala and Bayerische Staatsoper. But her love of music started during her childhood in Anoka, Minnesota. She was raised in a musical home — the granddaughter of a Minnesota Orchestra flutist and the daughter of a piano teacher — and she went on to study at Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. The current season finds her traveling to Japan to perform the role of Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus with the Seiji Ozawa Music Festival, as well as returning to the roster of the Metropolitan Opera for several projects. “Una Voce Poco Fa” >>>“Serenade” >>>

ABOUT THE ROYAL ACADEMY OF RADIO ACTORS:
A well-known Twin Cities radio personality and voice actor, Tim Russell is a man of myriad voices. He appeared in the Robert Altman film A Prairie Home Companion and the Coen brothers’ A Serious Man. Sound effects man Fred Newman is an actor, writer, musician, and sound designer for film and TV. Turns out, no one is more surprised than Fred that he’s made a career out of doing what he used to do behind the teacher’s back — crossing his eyes, making sounds, and doing voices.
