Join host Zoe Williams and guests and share your own ideas for an alternative manifesto. Together, we’ll create a plan that outlines the economic policies and changes we want to see to make Britain a more equal society. Zoe will be joined by the economist and Labour prospective parliamentary candidate for Peckham, Miatta Fahnbulleh. Further speakers to be announced.

This Sunday, get into the festive spirit as we celebrate the enduring appeal of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.

This famous story about the miserly Ebeneezer Scrooge, who learns the value of compassion and kindness after being visited by three ghosts, has been a Christmas tradition from the Victorian era to the present day. The actor and writer Simon Callow will discuss this immortal tale and the life of Dickens – and will read his favourite scenes from the story. Join him for a livestreamed event, with the Guardian’s Claire Armitstead.
