Irked by ’preventable’ surgical fires, FDA issues alert for healthcare

Expect The Joint Commission and other accrediting organizations to more closely examine your efforts to prevent surgical fires in the operating room after the FDA in June issued an alert reminding healthcare professionals and facility staff of “factors that increase the risk of surgical fires on or near a patient.”
