News Headlines The American College of Surgeons (ACS) released a much anticipated update to its "Statements on Principles" addressing both concurrent and overlapping surgeries.  The Joint Commission has announced it will delay the repeal of the texting ban until it can create additional guidance on appropriate texting policies. Last year, the Joint Commission's infection control (IC) standard IC.02.02.01 had the dubious honor of being the second-most cited standard for hospitals, critical access hospitals, and ambulatory care facilities. The standard requires organizations to lower infection risks related to medical equipment, devices, and supplies.
