| | | Edition 25 | 2022 | | Dear John Do, | | On May 4, Germany had consumed as many resources as are available to a country of its size for a full year. The so-called Earth Overshoot Day is occurring earlier every year, according to the Global Footprint Network organization. Recycling more raw materials may prove the remedy in future. The Hamburg-based impact start-up, Recyclehero, is committed to the circular economy and offers a pick-up service for recyclables using a cargo bike. In our latest "Future Hamburg Talk meets ...", Nadine Herbrich, Managing Director of Recyclehero, outlines how that works, the importance of impact and Hamburg’s role as a location.
In other news, Hamburg is launching a scale-up landing pad for international, high-growth start-ups, the ITZ North hydrogen centre has been approved and the Crystal Cabin Awards presented eight ideas on the future of flying.

Sincerely, Hamburg News Editors
