Today,the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is issuing a Joint Informational Bulletin with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and three HHS agenciesthe Administration for Community Living (ACL), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)to share information on existing federal resources, programs, and initiatives that are intended to improve home safety and accessibility for older adults and people with a disability in rural areas with states. While this bulletin doesnt issue new guidance it does bring together information on current resources and programs across three federal agenciesHHS, HUD, and USDA. Additionally, this bulletin supports the first everCMS Rural Health Strategy, launched in 2018 to improve health care in rural America, by leveraging collaborative partnerships, both on a federal level and at a regional, state, and local level.
