Jon Batiste's very big night at the Grammy Awards. And New Orleans' Final Four championship

By Bob Warren

Big basketball night in New Orleans: It’s a big night for New Orleans. North Carolina and Kansas will meet in the Caesars Superdome for the NCAA national basketball championship. New Orleans is hosting the Final Four for the sixth time and the city has been awash in tourists spending big bucks.

Jon Batiste cleans up at the Grammys: Speaking of big nights, how about the one Jon Batiste enjoyed last night? The New Orleans born musician absolutely cleaned up a the Grammy Awards in Vegas. Keith Spera has that story. (Synergy alert! Batiste has been one of the faces of New Orleans for the Final Four TV broadcasts. Check it out here.)

Cassidy's Supreme Court vote: U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy said this morning he'll vote against Ketanji Brown Jackson's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. Cassidy is a Republican and some Louisiana politics watchers said this vote might be an indicator of his interest in running for governor. Here's the story.

War and the farm: What does the war in Ukraine have to do with Louisiana farm prices? Plenty, it seems. Faimon Roberts spoke to some farmers across the state for this story.

More bad weather: For the third week in a row, we’ll be watching the skies for severe weather. Forecasters say the window is Tuesday morning into Tuesday afternoon. Ugh!

Hope you enjoyed today’s Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us. And of course, be sure to check out NOLA.com for more news throughout the day.
