The family of a Georgia church deacon who died in police custody is calling on authorities to release the full body cam footage of the incident to the public. Johnny Hollman, 62, was taken into police custody over a minor traffic accident in Atlanta last month. While handcuffed, he was tased by a police officer and died soon after. Full Story.

Communio's Nationwide Study on Faith and Relationships suggests that the collapse of marriage and lack of fathers living in the residence have each contributed to religious non-affiliation in the U.S. Communio founder and President J.P. Former Liberty University president and chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. has accused multiple past and current members of the Evangelical Christian university's senior leadership team of sexual misconduct and self-dealing in an amended lawsuit initially filed in July. Falwell, who was forced to resign in 2020 over a sex scandal, now names his brother, Liberty University Chancellor the Rev. Jonathan Falwell, and the school's President Emeritus Jerry Prevo, as defendants. Read more.
A German family that fled to the U.S. more than 15 years ago after being fined thousands for homeschooling their children may soon be deported. The Home School Legal Defense Association says the devout Christian Romeike family was informed by their local Immigration and Customs Enforcement office on Sept. 6 that they have four weeks to leave the country. Benjamin Garlick, a 32-year-old traveling Tennessee pastor and father of six has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of child rape; his wife, Shaantal Garlick, 29, has also been charged with facilitating his abuse. The pastor had just raised thousands of dollars for a vehicle to help him expand his ministry across the U.S. Read more.
