Tyler, joined by many supporters, celebrates his joy house program graduation

Congratulations, Tyler!

Tyler officially graduated The Joy House program this month. Tyler first became a resident back in June 2016 and transitioned to home phase with his grandmother in just a little over a year. He made everyone laugh with his endless supply of sarcasm and everyone was delighted to see his face continually light up with genuine happiness as he accomplished more and more within our program. He has already transitioned back into public high school and has accomplished obtaining his Learner's License. Congratulations, Tyler! We are so very proud of you!

Local Counselors Learn More About The Joy House

The Joy House invited the Pickens County School Counselors to come together at our Administration Office to be treated to a hot bowl of Pam's famous soup, salad and a delicious apple dessert while we discussed what our ministry has to offer for the students in their care. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve this community alongside these great counselors and treasure the opportunity to get to know them better. Two of our teens, Robert and Leighanne, shared a testimony with the group about what the residential program has meant to them thus far. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we hope to have them all back again next year.

the joy house annual golf tournament coming soon

It's Not Too Late to Tee Up for Teens!

Last year was our most successful golf tournament ever, thanks to all of our supporters, and we are believing that this year will be just as profitable. You can help make this hope a reality by partnering with us as an individual or business. We still have room for teams, though slots are filling fast! If you own or are involved with a business, we encourage you to review our sponsorship/registration information for this year’s tournament by clicking here. There are several great sponsorship opportunities still available including “Hole-In-One”, “Chipping Contest” and “Beverage Cart." As you consider partnering with us, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me (steve@thejoyhouse.org).

Victory's Gait Visits the Joy House Academy

The team from Victory’s Gait at Sweet Dreams Farm, a faith-based equine facility that promotes strong Biblical values and moral principles in a beautiful family-friendly environment in Ball Ground, Georgia, recently visited the Joy House Academy to give our students an overview of their program. Ms. Vickie introduced the program’s goal, to teach safety skills from the ground up while promoting and encouraging teamwork and leadership skills through natural horsemanship.
