In an unexpected twist Thursday, Blue Origin announced a new passenger for its upcoming launch that will send CEO Jeff Bezos to space, and the new passenger is only 18-years-old.

The company released a statement explaining that the person who won the auction to be the fourth member of the spaceflight backed out due to a scheduling conflict, vacating their $28 million dollar seat on the rocket. That opened the door for the second highest bidder, Oliver Daemen from the Netherlands, to join the crew.

So how does an 18-year-old have enough money to buy his way onto a rocket? And what other details do you need to know about the upcoming launch?
