Another successful trip to outback Australia is complete - coming home with some really nice timber to craft into woodworking planes. As you can see in the photo below we found some really nice colour and fiddleback. This year Terry took Lachie out to learn the skills of identifying timber species, what to look for in a tree that will be used to make tools, how to safely harvest the tree, and how to treat the wood to avoid cracking. We are very selective in which trees we choose in order to avoid waste. We are very proud that we can turn these trees into a product that is going to stand the test of time and be used by woodworkers around the world. |
