What you need to know

  • There's really only one news story today. Former President Donald Trump was found guilty by a jury of his peers of 34 felony counts. Reaction was swift, with Trump supporters crying foul, while many others said this verdict was evidence that the American system works - no one is above the law. Sentencing is set for July 11, 4 days before the GOP convention officially selects him as their nominee.

On Thursday afternoon, former President Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records by a jury of his peers. Following the verdict, Brian King, Democratic candidate for Utah Governor, released the following statement:

Utah exported $17.4 billion in goods in 2023, contributing over $8.0 billion to the state’s GDP

Utah’s international goods exports in 2023 totaled $17.4 billion, generating over $4.0 billion in earnings and 71,891 jobs, according to a report released this week by the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute. These exports contributed over $8.0 billion to the state’s gross domestic product (GDP) and $16.7 billion to the state’s gross output. The impact of these exports represented 2.6% of total earnings in the state, 3.0% of total employment, 2.9% of total GDP, and 3.6% of gross output. (Read More)


47G launches groundbreaking air transportation system for Utah

47G, in partnership with the Governor’s Office, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), the Utah Inland Port Authority and industry stakeholders launched a game-changing initiative today called “Project Alta.” The Air Logistics Transportation Alliance (ALTA) is a collaborative partnership with a mission to establish an advanced air mobility (AAM) system for Utah.
