To call Taylor a cutting-edge artist is an understatement. Although his music is based in the blues and folk realm, his meticulously crafted recordings crash the barriers of jazz, rock, funk, Americana, and myriad other genres to create a hybrid that Taylor labels “trance blues”. Taylor does for the blues what Jimi Hendrix did for the guitar, taking what everyone assumed was explored to the fullest and busting it wide open in a million new directions.

Dedicated to preserving the sounds of Five Points, Purnell Steen and Le Jazz Machine are the main keepers of the flame for the rich musical history of the Five Points neighborhood, a brand of jazz characterized by red-hot swing and boundless joie de vivre.

Colorado Symphony presents Ensemble Faucheux for an evening of contemporary music for viola, cello, and djembe. Featured works include Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw’s Limestone & Felt for viola and cello, and Christian Woehr’s Djembach: a suite of Bach-inspired and Middle East-influenced music for viola and djembe.
