We are excited to share insights into electronic prior authorization (PA) processes in healthcare.
Dear Member, We are excited to share insights into electronic prior authorization (PA) processes in healthcare. AHIMA’s recently released issue brief which include structured interviews with key stakeholders in collaboration with Alazro Consulting, sheds light on the burdensome nature of current PA practices. Our findings highlight that the shift towards electronic prior authorization (ePA) could improve efficiencies and reduce delays in patient care. Improved automation through ePA could also streamline communication between health plans and providers, ultimately enhancing the patient experience. At the same time, end-user considerations must be taken into account including workflows, technology, privacy and policy as healthcare further automates these processes. Key Topics Covered: Overview of Current Prior Authorization Processes Benefits of Transitioning to Electronic Prior Authorization Findings from Stakeholders on ePA Implementation Addressing Technological, Operational, and Privacy Challenges We invite you to engage with us in this important conversation. Your insights and feedback are invaluable as we navigate these changes and advocate on behalf of end-users including HI professionals, providers, and patients.
