SelectCoder Tip of the Week

Coders should not assign an ICD-10-CM code from subcategory M14.6- (Charcôt's joint) to report Charcot arthropathy in diabetes or syphilis. Charcot's joint in diabetes mellitus should be reported with the appropriate combination code from code range E08-E13 (diabetes mellitus) to indicate the manifestation.
