Chronic bronchitis not specified as "obstructive" should reported using an ICD-10-CM code from J41.0-J42. Chronic bronchitis that is specified as obstructive is coded to category J44 (other chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). "Chronic" indicates cough with mucus most days of the month for at least three months out of the year.
