Recurrent seizures and unspecified seizure disorders, when not identified as intractable, should be reported using ICD-10-CM code G40.909 (epilepsy, unspecified, not intractable, without status epilepticus). Do not use code R56.9 (unspecified convulsions) to report a diagnosis of recurrent seizures or seizure disorder.
