ZACH: It was SO GOOD to be back on the show this week! My time in Los Angeles was wonderful and super productive (shout out to The Advocate team holding it down out there), but I was so looking forward to coming back — and this week's shows were proof why.

From our conversation with Senator Sherrod Brown to chatting with legendary journalist Soledad O'Brien, our show continues to be a place where — to borrow from O'Brien's own tweet about us — we have tough conversations with context. And at a time where the news feels so erratic, it's good for us all to take a moment, breathe, and remember that — and I am so glad we are able to do that day in and day out.

ALEX: One of the best parts of hosting AM to DM is talking to people who are incredibly smart, entertaining, and doing work that cuts through the painfully loud noise of the news cycle.

This week, I sat down with comedian Hasan Minhaj, who delves into topics ranging from police brutality to Saudi Arabia on his show “Patriot Act.” He was just as refreshing to talk to in person — we jumped right in talking about both of our struggles with panic attacks. I love that we get to make these issues less stigmatized on the show.
