Today's Newsletter is Brought to You by BoldBrush CircleCreating Art is about Creating Magic. BoldBrush Recommends: Kate OrrBiographyMy name is Kate Orr. I am a 24 year old artist based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Primarily working in charcoal and oils, I am most inspired to capture people's portraits and figures. Seeing God's image reflected in people gives me an endless source of inspiration and delight. My art can be described as representational impressionism. The combination of abstract and delicately rendered techniques in artwork is a dynamic I am constantly learning and practicing. Since I was 14, I have been pursuing my career in art. I started by entering local art shows and competitions, including the National Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. Since then I have pursued my art education independently, studying books, videos, and articles, as well as attending workshops with artists such as Robert Liberace, Sherrie McGraw, Michelle Dunaway, Alicia Ponzio, and Tina Garrett. It has always been my ultimate purpose to glorify God with my life. This is my art's purpose as well. Each piece that I paint or draw, I seek to share a story. I want people to see my art and to feel joy, hope, and wonder. Visit my Solo Exhibition “Enchanted in Indy” at In the City Gallery, on September 6th, 2024. Enchanted in Indy by Kate Orr utilizes charcoal and oils to capture the unique beauty, elegance, and storybook charm of Indianapolis.
