Dear Friend,

Welcome back to my Week in Review newsletter. Please remember to follow me on Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube for regular updates on how I am serving the people of South Carolina!

This past Monday, our nation came together to honor the brave Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment remind us of the heavy price of liberty—one that cannot be measured by words alone.

May God bless the memory of our fallen heroes, comfort the families who carry their loss with strength, and continue to guide and protect our country.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

John 15:13

Keeping Our Country Strong and Competitive

Protecting jobs and securing our energy future starts with stopping radical activist delays on key energy projects. That’s why I’m proud to support the Protect LNG Act, which ensures strong leadership and a brighter future for South Carolina and the nation.

For South Carolina, this legislation ensures stronger protections for our growing role in energy exports, stability in our port economy, and a clear signal to our allies that America will deliver. The Protect LNG Act doesn’t just keep the lights on, but keeps our country strong, competitive, and in control of its future.

Jewish News Syndicate: Bipartisan group of senators introduces Solidify Iran Sanctions Act

May 29, 2025

Bipartisan legislation recently introduced in the U.S. Senate seeks to permanently implement sanctions against Iran.

The Solidify Iran Sanctions Act, which passed unanimously in the U.S. House of Representatives earlier in May, builds on the existing Iran Sanctions Act of 1996.

The bill would permanently implement energy and weapons sanctions on the Iranian regime and remove the 1996 bill’s sunset clause, which currently allows it to expire.

Other sponsors of the bill include Sens. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.).
