Farm Legend in the Making, Ken Ferrie Delivers Bare-Bones Crop Truth
 
Chances are you've probably heard of Ken Ferrie. For 30-plus years (and counting), he's provided crop and tech expertise via consultation, seminars, articles, podcasts, DVDs, Corn College events and more. He's a teacher at heart: Throw Ferrie the tiniest bone of a question, and expect a meal. Farm Journal's Chris Bennett crafts a biography of sorts to learn a bit more about the farm legend in the making.
 
 

Top Protein, a startup protein technology company based in Orlando, Fla., has been developing a new category of alternative meat for the past four years. The company uses fermentation-based technology to create an aligned fibrous protein out of — wait for it — milk.
