Dear Members and Friends,
I feel so proud and humbled to have received my medal as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire from the Princess Royal at Windsor Castle on February 28th. Princess Anne recalled her two visits to Vietnam with fondness, and we discussed our meetings on those two occasions.
It is hard to find the words to adequately express my feelings, but to have received such recognition of my services to British companies and charities was way beyond my expectations.
What I have contributed over many years by way of helping people, the less fortunate, and society, was to me normal, by virtue of the upbringing provided to me by my sadly departed parents.
The investiture was a truly memorable day and I hope it can serve as a reminder that people from humble beginnings can grow and be recognised.
Thank you to all my friends and family who in some way or another contributed to this amazing honour.
