It's official. Kevin Bacon is coming back to Utah.
Bacon and his brother, Michael Bacon — who is an Emmy Award-winning composer — will perform in Lehi (another city that happens to play a role in “Footloose”).
Six months ago, Bacon attended Payson High School's prom and a pep rally after Payson High students were "tireless" and "unrelenting" in trying to convince the movie star to come back to the place where the legendary "Footloose" was filmed.
Read more about how the Bacon Brothers will be performing a live concert for free tonight at Lehi Family Park.
Utah has nation’s first Center of Excellence for Stillbirth
University of Utah Health has been named the nation’s first Stillbirth Center of Excellence — a designation embracing an initiative to reduce both the number and the toll of stillbirths in the U.S.
Nearly 24,000 babies are stillborn each year in the United States. This equates to about one of every 160 pregnancies.
Why do stillbirths happen?
There are a few reasons, including:
Placentas that fail
Genetic or physical abnormalities
Infection
Umbilical cord problems
The mother's medical challenges or hypertension
Often, why the baby died is not discovered
Our resident family reporter Lois Collins talked to mothers who experienced miscarriage or stillbirths about the trauma around that experience earlier this year.
“I don’t think you ever get over it. I think you grow around it," Nicole Atzeni, one of the mothers told Lois. "Grief is interesting. I think you learn how to deal with it and it changes throughout the years, the different amounts that you feel it. You learn how to live with it.”
How the center could help:
“Our goal is to spread this as much throughout the country as we possibly can,” said center co-director Dr. Bob Silver.
Among the center’s 10-year goals:
Cutting the U.S. stillbirth rate in half
Halving the disparities in stillbirth rates
Doubling the number of U.S. families that receive comprehensive bereavement support after a stillbirth
Making sure that at least three-fourths of the nation’s stillbirths are evaluated to find the potential causes
Increasing public awareness
Positioning the U.S. as a leader in prevention, care and research

Utah Lake is going through an identity change. Known for its stinky reputation, the Utah County lake is making progress.
One of the ways is through volunteer work.
A conservation biologist described a recent effort that tapped services of members of the honors program at Utah Valley University who had to get out in the lake itself to complete their work.
“They were showing up, not really knowing what to expect, but they were all super gung ho and in pants and jeans and tennis shoes, and they all wanted to get into the lake because they were able to get there and see, ‘Hey, this isn’t nasty, this isn’t kinda grimy and gross, it’s actually a scenic place.’ And in this video, you can see that they’re very involved, and they’re happy to be out in this place that they can call home,” Addy Valdez said.
Next week, officials will celebrate the completion of the Provo River delta restoration project, which tackled a nearly 260-acre project a half-mile north of Utah Lake State Park.
