A sweet deal: Get out of parking tickets with PB&JAs any college student can attest, getting a parking ticket at the university parking lot is a major pain in the neck. Your car sits on the lot the entire time youâre in class, and if you forgot your parking pass or have reached the end of the time limit, you're guaranteed a ticket. But for students at the University of Alaska Anchorage, a new charity program is offering a get out of jail free card for anyone with parking tickets. To feed students in need, the university is pledging $10 in parking ticket credit for anyone who brings jars of peanut butter and jelly for the cause. The rewards also increase with the amount of jars donated. Three jars nets you a $35 credit and five jars gives you a $60 credit. With enough jars, one could easily wipe out several hundred dollars of parking ticket fines. In the end, youâre still paying money to erase your tickets, but at least itâs going to the needy instead of parking patrol! Everybody loves peanut butter and jelly, but they werenât always the most popular sandwiches. Click or tap to watch kids try the most popular sandwiches from the last 100 years. â |
