| Good morning, everyone. It seems like every one is a good one these days for the LSU women's basketball team — and Monday was no exception. Coming off a big win over Florida on Sunday afternoon, Kim Mulkey's team continued its rise in the Southeastern Conference standings to second and moved up in the polls as well. The Tigers bounced into the Top 10 of the latest Associated Press' rankings and landed at No. 8 after holding off a pesky Florida team 66-61. LSU moved up three spots to eighth, marking the first time since the 2009-10 season that the Tigers have made it into the Top 10. With just two games left in the regular season, the Tigers are in position to finish second in the league behind No. 1 South Carolina. The accomplishments have been many, but as columnist Scott Rabalais points out, there's still work to be done. Yet, it's not too early to think about where the program was and how remarkable a season it's been so far. There's a lot of buzz around another LSU first-year coach as well after Jay Johnson's debut with the Tigers baseball team was a smashing success over the weekend. Beat writer Leah Vann says Johnson had "high expectations" for the Alex Box crowds that came out to watch LSU crush Maine in three consecutive games, and he certainly wasn't disappointed. Following its three-game, 51-run outburst against Maine, LSU was all over the map in the national polls. The Tigers were as high as second (Collegiate Baseball) and as low as 11th (Baseball America). They moved up one spot in the Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game rankings, the latter to third. Also, LSU redshirt sophomore infielder Cade Doughty was named SEC player of the week after he led the league with 12 RBIs and 17 total bases in the three-game series. Doughty compiled a .571 batting average with eight hits in 14 at-bats against Maine pitching.
