Making a long story short: Quibi says bye-bye

In what might be the least surprising news of 2020, the embattled streaming service Quibi has announced that it’s shutting down less than six months after making its debut. Quibi attempted to set itself apart from services like Netflix with short, digestible videos that were optimized for phones.

Unfortunately, it never took off quite as investors hoped and the company’s leadership decided it would be in their best interest to close down operations rather than risk losing any more money. Imagine that, the short-form video platform ended up having the shortest run of all! This isn’t the first time a tech company has crashed and burned spectacularly.
