Litquake’s two-day Kidquake program reaches thousands of Bay Area K–5 children each year. Eighty percent are children of color from more than 60 local public schools. For many, it’s the first time literature comes alive as students: - Hear from  writers and illustrators about their journey to becoming children’s book creators, and they see characters in books that look like them
- Meet and talk to authors in person and receive free books for home and the classroom
- See their cultures and family traditions celebrated on a major stage
And most importantly, children learn that they can dream big and make a difference in their world through their own stories. |
