Die KfW Bankengruppe veröffentlicht heute die Ergebnisse der Zuordnung der konzernweiten Finanzierungszusagen 2020 zu den Sustainable Development Goals der Vereinten Nationen (SDGs). Die wichtigsten SDG-Beiträge der KfW waren im Geschäftsjahr 2020:

| SDG 8 – Menschenwürdige Arbeit und Wirtschaftswachstum: Im Zuge der pandemiebedingten Stützungsmaßnahmen für die Wirtschaft hat die KfW ihre Finanzierungszusagen mit 71,9 Mrd. EUR im Vergleich zum Vorjahr (28,1 Mrd. EUR) um 156 % gesteigert. |

Als Bank aus Verantwortung mit breitem Förderauftrag hat die KfW gleichzeitig dafür gesorgt, dass ihre deutlich gesteigerten, weltweiten Finanzierungszusagen 2020 weiteren zukunftswichtigen Nachhaltigkeitszielen zugutekommen:

| SDG 11 – Nachhaltige Städte und Gemeinden: Die Zusagen erreichten 46,0 Mrd. EUR – eine Steigerung von 58 % im Vergleich zum Vorjahr (29,0 Mrd. EUR) |
| | SDG 13 – Maßnahmen zum Klimaschutz: Die Zusagen erreichten 43,2 Mrd. EUR – eine Steigerung von 53% im Vergleich zum Vorjahr (28,2 Mrd. EUR) |
| | SDG 7 – Bezahlbare und saubere Energie: Die Zusagen beliefen sich auf 40,5 Mrd. EUR – eine Steigerung von ebenfalls 53% im Vergleich zum Vorjahr (26,4 Mrd. EUR). |

„Nachhaltigkeit ist nicht auf die ökologische Dimension begrenzt; auch die wirtschaftliche und soziale Dimension gehören dazu. Daher haben wir mit Blick auf die Pandemie schnell und flexibel zur wirtschaftlichen Stabilisierung in Deutschland und weltweit beigetragen“, erklärt Dr. Günther Bräunig, Vorstandsvorsitzender und Nachhaltigkeitsvorstand der KfW Bankengruppe. Das Ergebnis des SDG-Mappings zeige aber nicht nur die besondere Rolle, die die Förderbank seit Beginn der Corona-Pandemie eingenommen hat. „Deutlich wird auch, wie konsequent wir als Bank aus Verantwortung unser Engagement für Klimaschutz und Transformationsgestaltung in Deutschland und weltweit ausgeweitet haben. Wir haben die klimafreundliche Transformation von Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft trotz Pandemie nicht aus den Augen verloren“, unterstreicht Bräunig. Die KfW Bankengruppe hat ihr jährliches SDG-Mapping, mit dem sie ihr Jahresneugeschäft den 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) zuordnet, erstmals 2019 veröffentlicht. Bislang sind für die Offenlegung von SDG-Beiträgen im Finanzsektor keine Standards etabliert. Die KfW hat deshalb ein eigenes Verfahren entwickelt, das etwa 1.500 Indikatoren (Verwendungszwecke, etc.) berücksichtigt, um ihre jährlichen Neuzusagen den SDGs zuzuordnen. Der weitgehend automatisierte Ansatz macht die KfW zum Vorreiter bei der transparenten Offenlegung von SDG-Beiträgen im Finanzsektor. Für die Weiterentwicklung der KfW als transformative Förderbank bietet das SDG-Mapping wichtige Anhaltspunkte. Derzeit analysiert die Förderbank, wie das konzernweite SDG-Mapping in Verbindung mit einem verbesserten Wirkungsmonitoring perspektivisch auch zur strategischen Steuerung des Konzerns genutzt werden könnte. Der für April 2021 erwartete KfW-Nachhaltigkeitsbericht wird vertiefende Einblicke in die Weiterentwicklung des Wirkungsmanagements liefern.
