I have been covering Klondike Gold in J Taylor’s Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks since April 15, 2016. During that time the share price has fallen more than 60%. President and CEO Peter Tallman set out to explore and develop the hard rock origin of the great Klondike placer gold rush of the late 1800’s. Developing an economically viable gold deposit has taken a lot longer than I anticipated. But now, as Peter has grown in his understanding of the project he has attracted some of the top geologists who understand orogenic gold deposits. Together the company now appears to understand structural controls that tell Peter’s team where the gold is hosted.
The company has outlined a pit constrained 480,000 ounce gold deposit as a start. But those ounces should grow dramatically after factoring additional drilling starting with result from last year and 2025. Klondike appears to be on the cusp of developing a multi million-ounce gold deposit in the Yukon. As such, I consider company with a mere US$10 million market cap to be one of the most promising exploration stories in my portfolio. At the same time with gold and silver poised for another very strong year, Klondike seems poised on a launch pad for a “moon shot” year.
