| An exhilarating and eclectic celebration of Korean music
K-Music Festival is back! This six-week-long showcase has brought the most exciting new talent from Korea to venues across the capital, and there's still so much for music lovers to look forward to — from progressive rock, to pansori-infused jazz, to ethereal soundscapes conjured up using traditional Korean string instruments.
Next up? A dazzling double bill at Notting Hill's Coronet Theatre. Head there next Friday or Saturday to see heavy percussion powerhouse Dongyang Gozupa explore the psychedelic possibilities of the yanggeum (a metal-stringed zither), followed by genre-defying four-piece Sinnoi, who present a unique blend of jazz, electronica, and Korean folk music.
Other highlights include a collab between experimental drummer SooJin Suh and saxophonist Camilla George, an evening with folk jazz quartet Black String and award-winning jazz guitarist Nguyên Lê, and a gorgeous performance on the gayageum and the geomungo by Seoul-based duo Dal:um.
