| KQED at the Conventions | | | | History will be made at the Republican and Democratic conventions this month, and the KQED California Politics and Government team will be there to share it from a California perspective. I'll be reporting from both conventions, joined by reporters Katie Orr in Cleveland and Marisa Lagos in Philadelphia.
To complement NPR's national coverage, KQED's reporting will focus on California delegates, elected officials, protesters and others making the journey to the conventions. Some of the delegates have fascinating personal stories. There are immigrants or the children of immigrants making their first trip to a convention. There is a recovering heroin addict hoping to use this opportunity to stress the importance of funding substance abuse treatment. And there are Bernie Sanders supporters who are now faced with the prospect of supporting a candidate they don't really like.
While KQED will broadcast live reports and longer stories on radio, we'll also be sharing compelling convention moments via Twitter and Facebook and publishing daily blog posts of convention highlights. KQED's reporting on the conventions will quickly transition to the fall election, from the presidential race down to state and local ballot measures affecting all of us.
We're excited to be covering the conventions and hope you'll join us with your comments and questions on social media.
