This summer mark's the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing women the right to vote. To commemorate those who fought for American women’s suffrage, we'll be hosting a virtual screening featuring excerpts from the new PBS documentary American Experience: The Vote.After the film, join a live conversation about the legacy of suffrage activists and the Amendment’s passage with KQED's politics and government correspondent Marisa Lagos and Maxine Anderson (League of Women Voters of California),  Arianna Nassiri  (San Francisco Youth Commission, District 2), and Elaine Elinson (Co-author, Wherever There's a Fight: How Runaway Slaves, Suffragists, Immigrants, Strikers and Poets Shaped Civil Liberties in California).

In this webinar with Jevin West (Co-author, Calling Bullshit: The Art of Skepticism in a Data-Driven World) and KQED, you’ll learn to spot misinformation in charts, graphs and other data visualization, and hear about West’s work with students to navigate our data-driven world.

StoryCorps Mobile Tour

Want to share your most important experience? Capture a meaningful conversation with a friend or loved one? StoryCorps wants to tell your own story.

StoryCorps is a nonprofit oral history project that has preserved more than 65,000 interviews with everyday Americans in the Library of Congress. This summer they are partnering with KQED to record stories from across the Bay Area with a virtual residency on its cross-country Mobile Tour.

Reservations for recording sessions open at 10:00am on July 29 for Bay Area residents, with recording sessions starting on August 12.
