We are asking all guests and staff to wear a mask inside our facility. Per the most recent
CDC guidelines and the newly reinstated
California mask mandate, we are asking guests to consider the safety of those around them by masking up at all times when attending a KQED event. Staff and guest speakers will adhere to the same mask guidelines as event attendees.
Proof of vaccination will be required to enter the building. Proof of vaccination in the form of your physical CDC Vaccination Record card, or your digital vaccination record will need to be presented before entering the building. You can easily register for your digital vaccination record for access on your mobile device here:
https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.govWe have upgraded our HVAC system to align with
CDC guidelines following the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)
guidance. This includes an increased introduction of outside air with dampers open to reduce recirculation and improved central air filtration.
There will be enhanced disinfecting of high-touch surfaces. Countertops, railings, restrooms, and seating areas will be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly throughout the day. While the risk of contracting COVID-19 from a contaminated surface (also known as fomite transmission) is thought to be
extremely low, we want to do everything we can to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests.
Digital access to our live event programming will be available. We understand that there are a lot of variables to consider when making the decision to attend a live event, and the last thing we want to do is exclude those who aren’t ready to take this step. Guests will have the option to attend events in person or stream the content from home.
We will continue to closely review public health guidelines and update our safety protocol as necessary. Staying informed is our best prospect for remaining safe as we move forward with navigating through the pandemic. KQED is dedicated to staying up to date with current guidelines to ensure a safe experience for all.
