Kubernetes Recruiting At KubeCon San Diego, the 12,000-attendee-strong convention celebrating the Kubernetes ecosystem, something was different this year. With mainstream success has come a more conventional software developer audience and hundreds of big companies looking to recruit. “There are thousands of people here from companies moving to cloud native,” Liz Rice, vice president of open source engineering at Aqua Security, told me. “This is changing the dynamic to mature software that people are using in production.” Why is Kubernetes so important? Docker made it easy to package applications with their runtime dependencies. But eventually, deploying thousands of containers surpasses human ability. Enter Kubernetes and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, which counts Oracle as a member of its intentionally diverse community. There are now scores of open source projects in the CNCF community. Are you using or contributing to CNCF tools? Write me with your thoughts. —Alexandra Weber Morales, Oracle Director of Developer Content P.S.
