Sanchez, Draghi, Costa and Mitsotakis work together on proposals to reduce electricity prices with immediate effect

The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has travelled to Rome to meet, at Sánchez's request, with the Prime Minister of Italy, Mario Draghi, the Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, and the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to find solutions to the high prices of electricity, before the European Council on 24 and 25 March.

Spain and Mauritania boost bilateral relations at the highest political level

The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has met with the President of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, a meeting that had already been postponed on two occasions - July 2021 and January 2022 - and which represents the first visit by a Mauritanian leader to Spain since 2008.

Pedro Sánchez calls on the "European patriotism" of the EU27 to thoroughly reform the workings of the energy market

The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has met the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, at Moncloa Palace, the first visit of a Croatian Prime Minister to Spain in 25 years. Sánchez and Plenković discussed bilateral relations, the European response to "an unjust and irrational war" and its consequences, such as energy prices and refugees. They also discussed bilateral relations and Croatia's accession to the Schengen area and the euro.

The Government of Spain adopts urgent measures to alleviate the effect of the drought on the primary sector

The Executive has warned of a structural water deficit, as reservoirs are at their lowest levels since 1995. In addition, the Government has approved the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) for the shipbuilding industry, which will create around 3,100 jobs.

The Government of Spain adopts the Agreements of the island of La Palma with the regional governments to give a united response to the impact of the war in Ukraine

The Conference of Presidents has agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation along four main lines: humanitarian aid and reception of refugees, response to rising energy prices, deployment of European funds and articulation of the National Response Plan to the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
