Mariano Rajoy inaugurates new Guardia Civil Officers Academy

"The new academy represents another step forward in excellence and a modern future for the Guardia Civil", says Mariano Rajoy. The acting President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, inaugurated the new Guardia Civil Officers Academy in Aranjuez, Madrid. As he explained, the new centre will offer comprehensive and up-to-date training similar to that received by the executives of "any great organisation or institution, whether public or private".

Mariano Rajoy defends right to asylum as "inherent to democratic and civilised countries"

In an interview on Telecinco, Acting President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, expressed his conviction that the European Council, to be held on 17 and 18 March in Brussels, will lead to the establishment of a common position on the refugee situation. As regards the political panorama in Spain, he indicated that the most important thing is to form a government "soon" and one that "generates confidence".

The acting President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, inaugurated the EFE Agency Museum in Madrid and then attended the 2nd EFE Culture Awards presentation ceremony. In his speech, in which he congratulated the award-winners, he stressed that EFE is "a journalism company that is fully dedicated to serving the public interest, pluralism in society, informative rigour and the diversity of languages in Spain".

Government approves Public Employment Offer for 2016 with total of 19,121 posts

The Public Employment Offer includes 13,427 new posts under open application and 5,694 though internal promotion. The replacement rate stands at 100% for retirements and resignations in priority sectors such as the fight against tax and labour fraud, the State law enforcement agencies and direct aid for users of social services.
