Spain gives Nicols Maduro eight days to calls elections; failing which, it will recognise Juan Guaid as President of Venezuela


The President of the Government, Pedro Snchez, announced on Saturday morning that Spain will give Nicols Maduro an eight-day deadline to call free, democratic and transparent elections. Should he not do so, then Pedro Snchez stressed that Spain will recognise Juan Guaid as President of Venezuela.  The President of the Government made this declaration after heading up the negotiation process with different European Union leaders to adopt a common position to recognise Juan Guaid as the new President.

Government approves extraordinary public employment offer to reduce temporary employment rate


The government also extended the aid to alleviate the damage caused by storms and other natural disasters that affected various areas of the country in 2018. It also reiterated that the solution to the political conflict in Venezuela lies in calling snap elections.

Pedro Snchez calls for transition to digital economy without technology gap


The President of the Government, Pedro Snchez, travelled to the Swiss city of Davos to take part in the World Economic Forum on 23 and 24 January, after nine years without the presence of a President of the Government of Spain. Pedro Snchez is attending with the aim of outlining his vision of the future of globalisation and of Europe, establishing cooperative leadership and conveying the strengths of the Spanish economy so as to promote investment, create jobs and prosperity.

President of the Government confirms that Palace of Congress will host UNWTO


The President of the Government, Pedro Snchez, announced that the World Tourism Organization (WTO) will be given a space at the Palace of Congress in Madrid to host its headquarters, housed in Spain since its creation back in 1976. Located in the central Paseo de la Castellana, it is, according to Pedro Snchez, an emblematic space in line with the importance of a United Nations organisation, recovered by the city of Madrid, and which will help give a boost to congress and business tourism.

Government of Spain approves strategies against terrorism and organised crime, as well as biocustody plan


The President of the Government, Pedro Snchez, chaired the National Security Council meeting held on the Department of National Security premises known as the Moncloa Bunker. The council discussed various issues of particular security interest, including the strategies against terrorism and organised crime. It also approved a National Biocustody Plan.

The President of the Government, Pedro Snchez, inaugurated the 5th Tourism Innovation Forum, organised by the Hotusa Group.
