The President of The Government, Mariano Rajoy, has appeared before the extraordinary plenary session of the Lower House of Parliament. In his speech, he referred to his government's priorities: the fight against Jihadi terrorism, preserving the unity of Spain, and consolidating the economic recovery and job creation.

Mariano Rajoy reiterates that terrorism is a global problem that must be tackled on a joint basis

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, announced in Paris that he will propose a meeting of intelligence and counter-terrorism chiefs of European countries to the G-6, in order to tackle this problem. He also announced that Madrid will host a summit of European and African leaders in the autumn to tackle illegal migration.

Government pushes through implementation of Comprehensive Employment Plan for Canary Islands

The government allocated 42 million euros to increasing employment in the Canary Islands. It also authorised a call for proposals for the sum of more than 100 million euros to contract pre-doctorate researchers throughout Spain.
